The purpose of this research is to determine the efforts of the police in resolving child neglect and to determine the obstacles faced by the police in resolving violence, neglect of children by parents.The research method used by researchers is empirical legal research. Theempirical legal research method is a legal research method that functions to see the law in real terms and examine how the law works in society.The results of this research show that: (1) Law enforcement carried out by the Gorontalo Regional Police in cases of dealing with criminal acts of child neglect is carried out using two forms of law enforcement, namely first, resolution using the Criminal Law (Penal) approach. Second, resolution using a non-criminal law (non-penal) approach. (2) The obstacles faced by the police in resolving child neglect violence committed by biological parents are the lack of understanding of investigators regarding the qualifications for setting sanctions for criminal acts of child neglect and the low level of public legal awareness regarding the act. child neglect crime
