The purpose of this thesis is to find out the implementation of providing legal assistance to child suspects in the Pohuwato Regional Police Station, and to determine the obstacles in providing legal assistance to child suspects in the Pohuwato Regional Police Station This type of research used in this study is the type of empirical juridical research that is conducting research by collecting primary data obtained from interviews from several related sources relating to the subject matter discussed. The results of this study are (1) Implementation of the provision of legal assistance so far at the Pohuwato Regional Police to child suspects is still given by fulfilling the mandate of the Criminal Justice System Act, Article 56 of the Criminal Procedure Code and the Legal Aid Act where the implementation is intended for the achievement of protection of the interests of children who are dealing with Law. So far the child and family suspect has never refused to be given legal assistance. In providing legal assistance, the Pohuwato District Police continued to coordinate with P2TP2A and several related parties where the LBH that was used was YLBHIG (Gorontalo Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation) due to the absence of a Special LBH for Children. (2) Obstacles encountered in providing legal assistance to children, namely the absence of a Legal Aid Institution that specifically handles child cases and the problem of paying honorariums. Legal Advisers Suggestions in this study are the need for a Special Child Aid Institution established in Pohuwato Regency to remember the many cases of children facing with the law.
