Abstrak:
The aim of this research is (1) to examine law enforcement in cases of illegal mining activities without permits in Bone Bolango Regency. (2) To identify the factors influencing illegal mining activities without permits in Bone Bolango Regency. This study adopts a normative-empirical research approach. The data collection techniques include literature review and field studies. The research findings indicate that (1) there are 9 cases of illegal mining without permits that have undergone legal proceedings up to the court stage in Bone Bolango Regency. Out of these, 6 cases involve the unauthorized storage and transportation of mining materials, while the other 3 cases relate to unauthorized sand mining activities. (2) Factors influencing illegal mining activities without permits include economic factors, as the Suwawa community depends on mining activities. Lack of awareness among the community regarding the environmental impact of unauthorized mining is also an influential factor. Additionally, weak law enforcement occurs because many mine owners in the area operate without mining permits, yet face no legal consequences due to their connection to the community's income derived from such activities.Recommendations from this study involve two main aspects: first, enhancing law enforcement against unauthorized mining in Bone Bolango Regency by implementing stricter sanctions. Second, the government should conduct intensive socialization on obtaining mining permits for mine owners while also issuing regulations related to community mining areas.
